Hello, 2010!

We welcomed the new year at home. The Ayala Countdown was cancelled. To kick start this brand new year, this New Year Resolutions generator might help.

Here's one that tops my list!

Happiest, Healthiest, Bestest 2010 to all of us!

Visiting Lola at Loyola

Ondoy Stole my October!

Can't believe it's November! Whatever happened to my October? Hmm... Ondoy!!!

That day started with our weekly Lozada Swim class at Riverbend Hotel.

I noticed that the pool was deeper than usual. We enjoyed swimming under the rain, nonetheless. After class, I called home. Mom said street was flooded and suggested I wait it out. So, SM we went!

We decided to see The Surrogates. Halfway through the movie, mom called. Flood waters have entered the house and was rising fast. I asked her to leave the house and go to SM if she can. Apparently, she can't. They're stranded.

Off to the roof she went with our 3 dogs!

In the meantime, I was stranded in SM. Calling, texting, tweeting and posting status updates in Facebook the entire time. Hoping that somehow mom would be rescued.

Call me crazy but hey, without twitter or facebook, the helplessness would've driven me insane!

And here's a video taken outside SM during the typhoon.

So, was mom rescued? Ask her. She said, "Bakit walang nag-rescue sakin?" Oh well. At least your safe, mom!

Time to end this story.

We lost all those and our October but the losing ends here.

Happy Halloween!

PS.

Yes to MLTR. Someday, it's gonna make sense.

Speedo-ing up for my Lozada Swim Class

Well, for a novice like me, when you talk of swimming, the only brand that comes to mind is SPEEDO. So, to prep up for my swim class (Lozada Swimming School), the Speedo shop is the only place to go to.

What do I need?

Trunks? Uh-oh! Thank God for Speedo Jammers!

Photo may be slightly different from the actual uhm...actual. Anyhows, next on my list is Goggles!

Speedo Rapide Goggles which protects eyes from the sun, antifog and all that goggle stuff!

It sucks your eyeballs. Coach said that's a good thing. If he says so. Takes a while to get used to that feeling but works great against the sun's rays! I love it!

Lastly, Speedo Pace Cap!

To complete my swim attire, I also wore my short-sleeved rashguard. I need to buy one with longer sleeves.

Day One was a blast! Had so much fun making bubbles and dog paddling! It's like PE once again but FUN-ner!

Watch out Michael Phelps!

Well, there's no rush. Burp!

Eating the Time Away at Burger King Marcos Highway

Bills. Bills. Bills. Don't you just hate it when you have no option but the mall? Sheesh! Off from work at 6am and malls open at 10am! That's the graveyard shift for you!

Anyhows, what to do? what to do?

Eat Burger King's Whopper Jr. with fries, Hi-C and Hot Fudge Choco Sundae while enjoying free WiFi! It's like College all over again. Well, almost. Metabolism is way slower now! Bummer!

The Wensha Massage

Last Friday, we decided to get a massage. At Php 680, inclusive of buffet and use of facilities for 6 hours, how could we not consider Wensha. And so we did.

Wensha

After taking a shower, we decided to eat Shabu-shabu (buffet will be available starting 11am). Hmm.. Not bad. I'm glad, by the way, that they provided robes and shorts. Clap! Clap!

As we chilled, I decided to dot (GPS) the place.

Wensha

What is that dot doing on top of Manila Bay? Time to change Map modes...

Wensha

Reclaimed land. That could be it.

Wensha

Zooming further...

Wensha

It's relaxing to know we are on solid land. Whew! Time for the massage!

I don't know how to describe it. Except that it was a workout. Man, was I glad I didn't choose hard! Except for the noisy family who came out of nowhere, it was a relaxing experience. I, particularly enjoyed the part where it felt like I was flying! Haha! After getting over the "exposed" phase, it was fun! Oh yeah, at the end of the massage, there's this obligatory tip. Funny!

Off to the Lunch Buffet! The food was ok. But believe it or not, I didn't go for seconds.

The Wensha Buffet

Till next... month?

Notoriously Comfortable

Last Thursday, I felt terribly notorious. We went on an unscheduled break..on top of our regular one. haha! Well, notorious may not exactly be the most accurate word to describe it. Probably, normal would be more apt. But, hey! That's what I felt.

Enjoyed a Venti of Mango-Passion Fruit Shake and a plate of Cinnamon Swirl. Comfort Food when I needed it.

Oh No! The Nokia Booklet 3G! Hide!

Oh shoots! This isn't happening! The Nokia Booklet 3G is out. And it costs just about as much as my N97! Nooo! Please tell me this is just a prototype!

Just when I was looking forward to celebrating Dell Inspiron's 2nd birthday. Well, he just turned 1. That's a record, mind you! The longest a laptop has stayed with me.
Dang! I'm pretty sure there's a major flaw here somewhere. For starters, we are not allowed to bring laptops to work! Haha! That's one!

Plus! It doesn't look good beside my N97, right? Right?

Waaaah-tches!

As I was strolling along mall shops, headed towards the nearest ATM, something caught my eyes.
My heart skipped a beat...
And then again...
Just look at that white one with a patch of cool green! Aaah!

Nike Wallet check!

ROOOOOWR!

I guess my wallet isn't fat enough. Oh well, I'm saving up for a Toyota Prius, anyways. Ehem! <---- daydreaming!

Time to change windows for today's window-shopping spree!

Book Read: Diary of a Wimpy Kid

I found this book truly light and refreshing. It was really just like reading a diary of a wimpy kid. It kept bringing a lot of childhood memories.

Mr. Kulangot, for instance. Yeah! yeah! Gross! That's exactly it. Gross! We had this cousin from the province who once spent his summer vacation with us. We caught him tinkering his nose. I'm sure you know the rest of the story -- a lot of running!

Incidentally, the one and only Mr. Kulangot celebrated his 27th birthday yesterday. Happy birthday, cuz!

By the way, I was surprised I did not relate to Greg, the wimpy kid. I saw myself more in Rowley, the wimpier kid! Oh, well!

I liked a number of pages. In fact, I mini-post-it-ted them.

These days, I enjoy light readings as this which makes you think without the headaches! Let's see what happens in Book 2. Perhaps, even book 3 and the about-to-be-shipped book 4.

Methinks.. I miss my childhood when everything was as simple as an unopened 120-pack box of non-toxic,washable crayons equipped with a sharpener on a sunny Saturday morning.

By the way, the other day (around 1:30AM), while we were eating at MiniStop, I saw a kid in his pajamas with his mom buying some midnight snacks. It made me think. I want to sleep in pajamas!

St. Claire's Monastery

We were on our way home when suddenly our cab "mysteriously" broke down just past St. Claire's Monastery. By mysteriously I mean nothing spiritual nor supernatural. Let's just say I'm suspicious of the cab driver.

But that was OK. The place was serene. Reminded me of my study spots in High School. Real good place to recharge.
